CityFest is free for all to attend and enjoy.

Alabaster City Schools formed its own school system in 2013. The city hosts two elementary schools, an intermediate school, a middle school, and a high school. Alabaster opened the new state-of-the-art Thompson High School in 2018 and is designed to accommodate nearly 2,000 students. Athletics at Thompson High are serious business. Thompson competes with 13 varsity teams in a variety of sports and has won the state championship in football for the past three years.
