Fencing Camp for Beginners

This camp introduces students to the basics of fencing, bringing the experience from Olympic coaches. Beginning with warm-up activities each day, classes cover footwork, handwork, rules and strategy. Fencing equipment is provided.

Miss Alabama Pageant

Art on the Rocks

The 14th season of Birmingham’s most popular summer series “Art On The Rocks” is presented by Dale’s Seasoning. Art on the Rocks brings three Friday nights of entertainment to downtown Birmingham with artist collaborations, interactive performances, food, cocktails, and more! The first event of the season will feature musical guests The Suffers, an electrifying eight-piece wonder-band that brings contemporary Gulf Coast soul to the masses.

Zoo, Brews & Full Moon Bar-B-Que

Join the Birmingham Zoo on Saturday, June 16 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. as we kick-off the fourth annual Zoo, Brews and Full Moon Bar-B-Que event at the Birmingham Zoo! Craft beer fans will love the selection of drinks from some of the finest specialty brews around. Enjoy drinks from over a dozen breweries from all over Alabama and the southeast. In addition to beer, there will be plenty of other libations, including wines and non-alcoholic beverages.

Attendees will enjoy tasty dinner provided by Full Moon Bar-B-Que. This family event also includes live music by Union Road Band, animal greetings and walkabouts, train and carousel rides, special kids activities and much more! Saturdays in the Park: Fit Camp

This class includes alternating body sculpt moves and aerobic exercises that offer body-shaping, fat-burning, and strength training for overall fitness! Tuscaloosa Farmers Market

Each week, vendors sell locally-produced goods ranging from in-season fruits and vegetables, meats, breads, cakes and cookies to arts and crafts. The Farmers Market at the Tuscaloosa River Market, a public service of the City of Tuscaloosa, is free and open to the public. In addition to its usual year-round Saturday 7 a.m. to noon hours, the Farmers Market will be open to the public from 3 to 6 p.m. every Tuesday. This schedule will run through Tuesday, Nov. 20. The new afternoon hours are an effort to assist farmers in reaching customers at convenient times.

Alabama Museum of Natural History Expedition

Participants will have the unique opportunity to work with scientists in the field of archaeology as part of an actual scientific research project to explore the history of Alabama. Students, teachers, and adults will spend a week at the Expedition field camp working with scientists to learn excavation techniques, laboratory procedures, and artifact identification. The event begins June 18 at 8 am until June 23 at 5 pm.

Cruise ‘n Brews Scavenger Hunt

Join us for the June version of Cruise ‘n Brews coming up on June 9 from 4-7 p.m. This time we are going to shake things up a bit and do a scavenger hunt. Grab a partner, a smartphone or camera and your bikes. We will give you a set of clues and you will need to go with your partner to take a selfie at that location. Winners will be decided based on points for finding each location AND the creativity of their photographs. Just because you complete the list first does not make you the winner, this is a cruise not a sprint. Costumes and/or crazy outfits are encouraged and will receive bonus points. Please abide by all traffic laws.
